The story behind our Slow Friday campaign

Rituals in Motion / Published on 19 / 11 / 2025

There’s a certain kind of chaos that hits inboxes this time of year.
Flash sales. Countdown clocks. Subject lines that scream like they’re on their third espresso of the day.
Buy now. Hurry. Go. Go. Go.

And every year, my nervous system says:
Absolutely not.

Don’t get me wrong — I love giving.
I just don’t love being told how to do it.

So this year, I’m choosing a different rhythm.
I’m calling it Slow Friday — not because I’m trying to be trendy, but because rushing makes me itchy and slowness makes sense.

So what do we do on the loudest shopping spree of the year?

We whisper instead.
We hand people something real.
We give like it matters. Because it does.

Here’s how we’re showing up

For every seasonal planner sold this weekend, I’m donating one to the Women's Centre of Montreal.

The Centre support women from all walks of life — whether they’re rebuilding after violence, navigating immigration, rediscovering their confidence, or simply looking for a space where they can breathe.

They offer legal support, job reintegration, creative workshops, mental health resources, community care, and a powerful reminder that no one has to do this alone.

As a mom, a maker, and a woman trying to do something small but meaningful — I wanted to show up for them. And for every woman who could use a little anchor in her week.

So when you buy a planner during our campaign you’re buying two stories:
One for you. One for someone who needs it — really needs it.

Also: magic for you & your people

Because gifting is a ritual in itself, you’ll also receive my printable Crée ton rituel saisonnier guide for free.
It’s soft, seasonal, and built to help you design your own ritual — no rules, just inspiration.

And we’re running a giveaway too — because sharing is caring and I like a little sparkle.

  1. Follow our page @atelierscripturalwrituals
  2.  Like this post
  3. Tag a friend who deserves slow mornings, hot tea, and a beautiful place to write it all down

One of you wins a planner. So does their tagged friend.
Because joy is better in pairs, and generosity should travel in both directions.

Slow Friday isn’t a boycott. It’s a love letter.

To local makers.
To handmade goods.
To sustainable paper cuts and kraft paper corners.

To women who are rebuilding.
To people who are reimagining.
To you — maybe — if you’ve been craving something softer, slower, and actually meaningful this season.

This isn’t about guilt-tripping anyone into shopping better.
It’s about offering another way.
More community, less chaos.
More ritual, less rush.
More Montréal heart in every recycled-paper parcel.

Whether you buy, share, or simply pause to reflect on how you’re showing up this season — thank you.

You’re part of the ripple.
And that? That’s what makes it all worth it.

With ink-stained fingers and very full heart,
Sarah B.
